whenever i want to sink into a deep sleep, i imagine being pulled down into unknown waters, where i can’t see my worries, my worthiness minute to the pressure above. let me drift along the floor, clouds of sediment and plankton the only touch my flesh knows. let me be seen by predator, prey, or percipient who happened to capture me on film. may the air leave my lungs, limbs multiply and elongate, and my one heart turn into three. do not bring me to the light. let me evolve in the abyss, and leave me be.
